I can't believe how fast the summer flew by! This has been a jam packed and exciting past couple months for me and definitely a summer to remember. I haven't given a life & travel update in a month so let's play some catch up..
I just returned from a quick weekend trip to St. Louis, MO for Joyce Meyer Love Life Women's Conference. I had the opportunity to spend time with a dear friend, hear encouraging speakers and worship my God with over 15,000 women!
St Louis is such a "neat" town and only 270 miles from Chicago so it makes for an easy road trip. We also had a chance to check out one of the more popular tourist destinations, Sweetie Pie's Kitchen. Made famous for her reality show on OWN Network this soul food joint was packed and worth the wait. I indulged on some catfish, cornbread and mac n cheese. Ahh southern comfort food!
Earlier this month..
And more great news...
I was in the Chicago Tribune!!! In August I attended Macy's Passport Glamorama Event which was covered by one of my favorite socialites Candace Jordan. In her write up for the Tribune my photo was featured:) On my vision board I created last year there is a picture of two women posing at a charity event that I grabbed from a local Chicago publication. So having this photo appear (with one of my mentors THE Zondra Hughes) in a NATIONAL publication was definitely a vision board fulfillment. So blessed:)
On an upcoming event note..
I am excited to sit down with Donna Smith Ballenger on Sep. 28th for some Side Hustle 101 Talk! I will share some tips on generating multiple revenue streams while you build your brand!
I am a sales consultant, social media and branding strategist, professional blogger and travel and lifestyle expert. So this is something I am very familiar with!
Please listen in and RSVP here!!

On Sep. 8th I participated in the Hyundai Hope on
Wheels 5K in Chicago. It was my first 5K!
I ran (read:walked) for an amazing organization where I’m grateful to be a
member of the Junior Board, By the Hand Club for Kids. Founded in Chicago, By the Hand is an after-school program that takes
children from the city’s most impoverished neighborhoods “by the hand” and
walks with them -- mind, body and soul. At this year’s race 25 kids and close
to 100 runners helped to raise close to $50K that will go towards providing
academic and spiritual mentoring to children who need it the most.
My only goal was to finish the race even if I brought up the
rear, which I did! However the amazing feeling of accomplishment that washed
over me as I WALKED past the finish line was the ultimate reward.
The race is over but you can still donate to support By the
Hand Club by making a donation here on our team fundraising page. https://sna.etapestry.com/fundraiser/BTH/runforus2013/team.do?participationRef=2110.0.744105083
